How can I commission an Artwork?

The process for a commissioned artwork has a few steps that ensure the quality of the finished piece. What would you like? Being specific in your initial inquiry will help streamline the process. What is most helpful to me, is the supply of references. If I would be painting your four-legged friend, the more photos I have to work from the better. Want your tattoo design to follow a style with a certain shading? Send me the designs you like best. Once we’ve sorted out the details, I’ll provide an estimate and draft an artist contract. You will be kept up to date on your piece through each stage of development, with your feedback appreciated.

How Long does a COmmission Take?

The time needed to finish a piece depends largely on the sizing and complexity of the artwork. A standard sized pet portrait or card design takes around 7-10 business days. The largest sized watercolor should be given two months in order to give the layers of color and details adequate time to dry as we build up the work. Tattoo art and other design projects can turnaround in 7-10 business days. Please place any orders for the holidays early to ensure you will receive it on time.

In the event of a tighter deadline, I can occasionally accommodate your request in 3-5 business days for an additional fee.

What Materials do you use?

I use high quality watercolors on archival cotton paper for the majority of my watercolor work. This means that your finished piece can last several lifetimes without fading due to age or exposure to sunlight. For more designed based artwork, I can use a wide variety of materials in order to get the specific effect you are in search of.
